I stumbled across this post while searching for information about Josef (Joseph sometimes) Minsky. All I know about him is from a Soviet/American 'Space Art' book that I picked up in a used book store. His two paintings in that book are among my favorites. He focuses on the human side of space exploration, and has a style that is dark and 'moody,' quite different from the straightforward realistic depictions of spacecraft, planets, et cetera, that seem to be so common in 'space art.' The only example of his work online seems to be this: http://www.refugeearth.org/pages/palebluedot/SpaceArt2000/01-Main/4_art_Russia/USSRart3.htm
